The Semi-Retired Foamer has been a railfan since he was around 5 years old, oh yes a very young age, an age when one really should avoid being involved with the gunzel community to any great extent. A few rather unsavoury people bringing that fact home.
After a few decades of train chasing, one decided to break with protocol and get married, thus leading to a severe cut in railfan activity.
Subsequent dealings with hate breeders, lunatics, mental defectives and self-appointed preservation overlords lead to an even greater decrease in my hobby participation.
However things have changed thanks to our small group of trusted mates, interest has returned, and now I have become a bit more involved yet again.

Over the years I have tried my best to further both the hobby, as well as the friendships that it brings. I have done this by setting up proactive groups both here in Australia, as well as the Philippines. It is with huge honour that I am often considered the founding father of the railfan hobby in the Philippines (my second home).

I don't take the hobby too seriously and I am a friend to anyone who is good and genuine. But never forgive those who have used their hate to destroy my hobby or hurt the friends within it.

I aim to share the era that I considered mine, the 80s and 90s. I also like to help promote, and even raise funds for, the various heritage societies that keep the era alive

Firstly, I would really like to thank everyone who has shown a big interest in the Delec series.
 It has come as a bit of a surprise and, as such, I shall continue it in 2021. At least while the interest is there.

9020 is turned at Delec.
The 90 class only ever visited Sydney to make use of the Delec wheel lathe. Nowdays this is done up in the Hunter.
Today 9020 is one of the unlucky few in storage.


8130 is very faded candy livery.


8172 was one of two 81 class to wear the 1988 Bicentennial livery.


Another candy 81 class, this one looking to have had some repair work necessitating a repaint of the cab front.



8001 seen both in her original Indian Red and in the later Freightrail Blue liveries. 
The first shot, at Hope Street, was after she had a collision, the bend in the frame being quite noticeable.
She has since gone to god.


Preserved 4520 in Delec shed for the open day alongside now scrapped 8012.


 4499 and 4898 out in the paddock.
Both locomotives have since been scrapped.



The 44 class era, in government operation anyway, was fast approaching an end. In the final weeks we would regularly haunt both Delec and the nearby Hope Street.
On this night, 4486 is headed out of Delec, stopping briefly on the Hope Street crossing.
4486 is one of the lucky ones in preservation.



Newly repainted 44240 sits at Delec.
She would later go through the disgrace of wearing the Freightrail Blue livery, before being scrapped and put out of her misery.


4306 and 8139 in Delec shed.



4701 was an unusual visitor to Delec. The 47 class were never to be seen here on most of our visits.
4701 is not preserved, while 4886 is now 48201 with Graincorp.
