Howdee, time for another dreary selection of Delec notes, sightings and photos from the 80s and 90s.
A bit of a ferret through the boxes revealed a few Delec related documents that I must have hoarded (I am a real bad document hoarder) over the years.
In part two I photographically covered the Delec Open Day on June 22nd, 1996. Since then I have come across the welcome brochure from same.
If anyone has any Delec related documents they would like to share, please shoot us an email.

The 90 class are heavy Hunter coal traffic locomotives and were only ever seen in Sydney for wheel lathe attention at Delec.
Until I started cataloguing all the collection, I didn't realise how many times I got lucky with finding them there.
This is three such occasions.

8172 is her former bicentennial livery.
8004 has a peek out of the loco shed.
Today she is a long term stored resident at Werris Creek.

8040 is also in the former bicentennial livery.
Today she is no longer with us.

48100 would go on to be owned by Graincorp and renumbered 48204.
She has been in storage, but a bumper grain season will likely see her in use again.
4871 would go on to be rebuilt as PL2, then later scrapped.
4870 would go on to be rebuilt as PL3, then later scrapped.
48165 is another wearing the bicentennial livery.
Today she is stored at Werris Creek, has been for some time, and may have been retained for heritage reasons, depending on what story is actually true. If indeed true, it would certainly be great to see her wear this again.

CAR1 was formerly 4812, but after sale to Cargill for use as their shunter on Kooragang Island (Newcastle).
Today it is scrapped (following stripping in Junee), as is 8634 next to her.
42104 was the only one of her class to wear the reverse livery. She is seen looking very unhappy at Hope Street on May 20th, 1990.
She would soon do her final trip, going to Sims Metal at Mascot.

A rather gloomy Delec day.
G518, along with G517, would go on to be destroyed at Ararat in a collision during November 1999.
4490 has faired better, no being preserved at Thirlmere.

Reverse liveried 4606 is now scrapped.
As is 4634.
42207 in reverse livery at Hope Street (see her in the unique light blue livery above).
Today she is with OneRail as their 2207.
8146 is with Pacific National.
8646 seen next to 4638 during the Delec
open day (21-6-1996).
Interestingly, she would also go on to be preserved, and today is on static display at Thirlmere.
