4469, made famous due to the early Lima H O scale model, has since been scrapped.

ST30 8031 sitting around the yard at Broken Hill (NSW).

ST30 is now owned by Greentrains, while Pacific National has 8031 in store.

442s6 442s1 shut down on the siding into Seatons.

The Sandown branch is just visible beyond 442s1, this being all long closed with it part converted into the light rail access to the new Parramatta system depot.

442s1 (ex 44220) now with Southern Shorthaul

442s6 (ex 44226) now statically preserved at Junee in candy and back as 44226.

48145 4514 FL220 with a rake of containers approaching Port Botany.

48145 now Graincorp's 48213.

4514 is scrapped.

FL220 (ex 42220) now operational in Western Australia with Watco.

4401 44212 arrives at Cooks River as a light engines to Botany.

4401 is retained for heritage and was being tested on local trip trains at the time. Today she is a static display at the Junee Roundhouse Museum.

44212 was later rebuilt as GL112.

442s3 442s5 8111 with an empty container train from Port Botany has just passed over the former Banksia Street pedestrian crossing.

Today the track has been duplicated and a massive footbridge has replaced this crossing.

442s3 (ex 44203) is now scrapped, 442s5 has reverted to her original 44223 number and is operational, while 8111 is still with Pacific National.

Unit now with Qube and reverted to it's original number.

607 (ex 600) 602 on a works train at Wiley Park in Sydney.

607 has since been scrapped, while 602 survives with Southern Shorthaul.

48107 has had a whoopsie and is seen sitting at the Chullora Workshops. Not surprisingly, the unit has since gone through a blast furnace.

A heavily stripped 4804 at the Delec Locomotive Depot in Sydney. No prizes for guessing her ultimate fate.

John Currey's privately preserved 4465 at ALCo Park (Werris Creek). She is now kept in a shed.

8003 sitting at Werris Creek in Northern New South Wales.

She was one of the members of her class scrapped in the same livery she wore on delivery.

48123 is another of her class seen shunting the Graincorp grain sidings in Carrington, and likewise another that has been scrapped.

4812 4823 4810 on an up Nowra Goods at Coniston.

4812 would go on to be Cargill's bright yellow shunter CAR1, before later being scrapped at Junee.

The two behind her are also now scrapped.

4822 4811 sit at Rockdale on a works train during a shutdown.

4822 is preserved at the Dorrigo Steam Railway & Museum, while 4811 is now 48s36 with Southern Shorthaul, but is expected to revert to it's original number.

4826 is now scrapped, 4911 with Southern Shorthaul.

4429 on an Illawarra passenger train passing through the Lilyvale Tunnel. 

Unit has long been scrapped, being done at Sims Metal in Mascot.

Only unit that isnt scrapped is 48125 which is now Graincorp's 48211.

Today she remains in the area, privately owned in Junee by local stuntman Lawrence Legend.

4869 4881 4861 4862 on an up Pelton coal passing through Hexham.

All four have gone to god, 4881 as PL5.

All PL class, with the exception of PL1, have been scrapped.

4520 transferring a Silver City Comet set to the museum at Thirlmere is seen passing through the famous Maldon Curve.

4520 is preserved at the same museum.

8049 8004 sitting around the turntable at Lithgow just west of the Blue Mountains.

8004 is with Pacific National but not operational, while Southern Shorthaul have 8049.

In the background is now scrapped 4877 and electric 8641.

PL2 (ex 4871) PL5 (ex 4881) 48129 PL7 (ex 4856) empty Pelton coal train passing through Bellbird cutting and the site of Bellbird Colliery.

All scrapped and the line has not seen use for some years now.

Silverton ST28 ST29 shunting the mine at Broken Hill in far west New South Wales.

ST28 would become Silverton Rail 48s28, later sold to South Spur, then Greentrains, and is now with Southern Shorthaul as 4828 (the second NSW DL531 to do so with the original already being scrapped.

ST29 is scrapped.

3507 (ex 45107, ex 4507) 4528 passing through Maitland on a northbound freight.

3507 now scrapped, 4828 believed stored with Lachlan Valley Railway.

44207 4499 (8504 dead attached) approaching Taree on a rather sad and pathetic looking May morning.

The 85 was on it's way to Lansdowne for painting into the new Freightrail blue livery.

44207 was rebuilt at GL101, but the other two have been scrapped

Howdy folks!

One major drawback of years of neglecting to catalogue over 300,000 photos is that I'm now playing catch-up. While I've managed to organize thousands of images on this blog across various themes, there are still countless others sitting around waiting for their moment.

To tackle this backlog, I'm embarking on a mission to sort through and categorize a substantial number of these photos in the coming months. Expect to see posts dedicated to locomotives, carriages, infrastructure, trams, and buses, catering to those with even a passing interest in these subjects.

4816 48s33 with a containerised coal train from the Pelton (Austar) Mine. Passing through East Greta on the South Maitland Railway.

The mine has since ceased, the line sold to Aurizon (as far as Bellbird Junction), and sees only occasional use for wagon storage. 

Both are still with us, 4816 with 'Junee Railway Workshops' and 48s33 with 'Southern Shorthaul'.

PL1 is the lucky last survivor of the class, now being with Progress Rail in South Australia.

Kendall Airlines (above) was less lucky, becoming a victim of the Ansett (parent company) collapse, and later being sold to a consortium that formed the now troubled REX Airlines.

The plane itself went to REX and is probably still with them.

I would have liked to have been an Astronaut. 

Seeing as I am not a top gun pilot, have excellent health or degrees coming out of my ears, not liking sci-fi as it is ridiculous and far fetched, or remotely interested in Uranus..

I have been quoted by peers as being a Space cadet on occasion though.
