The Semi-Retired Foamer has been a railfan since he was around 5 years old, oh yes a very young age, an age when one really should avoid being involved with the gunzel community to any great extent. A few rather unsavoury people bringing that fact home.
After a few decades of train chasing, one decided to break with protocol and get married, thus leading to a severe cut in railfan activity.
Subsequent dealings with hate breeders, lunatics, mental defectives and self-appointed preservation overlords lead to an even greater decrease in my hobby participation.
However things have changed thanks to our small group of trusted mates, interest has returned, and now I have become a bit more involved yet again.

Over the years I have tried my best to further both the hobby, as well as the friendships that it brings. I have done this by setting up proactive groups both here in Australia, as well as the Philippines. It is with huge honour that I am often considered the founding father of the railfan hobby in the Philippines (my second home).

I don't take the hobby too seriously and I am a friend to anyone who is good and genuine. But never forgive those who have used their hate to destroy my hobby or hurt the friends within it.

I aim to share the era that I considered mine, the 80s and 90s. I also like to help promote, and even raise funds for, the various heritage societies that keep the era alive

1616 sits on the western side of Rockdale station.
Bus later went to 'Gold Coast Citybus', but has since been scrapped.

Mk1 Mercedes 1952 at Darling Street wharf in the late 80s.
The bus would later be sold to Bathurst Coaches, where it would be unused, then subsequently scrapped.
Withdrawn from Kingsgrove Feb 1990.

3157, seen here at Darling Harbour, was painted up to resemble a tram.

1792 sits near the old Maroubra Library on Anzac Parade.
1792 would be sold to Blue Ribbon Coaches, then
later to T & I Engines of Rutherford for parts.

2794 passing 1821 on Anzac Parade near Maroubra Junction.
1821: Sold to Richies in New Zealand, who extensively rebuilt it. Later went to an unknown owner and the current situation is not currently known.
2794: Sold for scrap.

1891 withdrawn at Randwick Workshops.
Believed to be preserved by the Parker family.

1857 and 1847 outside the former Maroubra post office. The post office has moved over to Pacific Mall and the site redeveloped.
1847: Went on to have a variety of owners around NSW and southwest Queensland, before passing to an unknown owner.
1857: Went to Fearnes of Wagga Wagga, but has since been scrapped.

2761 on the 'S*M*U*T Closed Lines' tour again.
The bus is sitting on the former right of way of the original line to Moorebank that branched from Liverpool.

1810 at Randwick bus depot.
Went on to provide local services around Thornton (NSW) before being scrapped by Sim's Metal at their Kooragang Island site.

1932 operating route 376 along Minneapolis Cresnt in Maroubra (NSW). Bus would be sold to Fearnes of Wagga Wagga, who reportedly didn't use it. Now scrapped.

3364 operated the last 303 service to Caringbah station back in August 1990.
The legendary David Kirkland can be seen talking to the driver.

There's a bit of a story behind this one.
While at an open day at Randwick Depot, David Kirkland and I got into this bus and set the destination for favoured bus routes (as you do).
Being a Sans Souci lad, as I once was also, he did 476 Dolls Point. I stuck to Matraville ones.
Anyway, purely by coincidence, 1826 turns up while I was photographing the Botany goods yard and still had Dave's handiwork displayed.
The bus would later go to Richies in New Zealand, last reported as being a motorhome in the same country.

Went into private bus use around Sydney, before being turned into a mobile home.

1613, 1648, 3998, 1616, and one unidentifiable Leopard, herd near the entrance to Kingsgrove Depot.
1613: Now with the Sydney Bus Museum.
1616: Gold Coast Citybus, then scrapped.
1648: To Interline,Macquarie Fields, likely scrapped.
3998: To Westbus at Bonnyrigg, now scrapped.
