The Semi-Retired Foamer has been a railfan since he was around 5 years old, a very young age when one really should avoid being involved with the gunzel community to any great extent.
After a few decades of train chasing, one decided to break with protocol and get married, thus leading to a severe cut in railfan activity.
Subsequent dealings with social misfits, lunatics, mental defectives and self-appointed experts lead to an even greater decrease in my hobby participation.
However things have changed thanks to our small group of trusted mate, interest has returned, and now I have become a bit more involved yet again. Having learned to laugh, with others, at all the more 'Moronic Foamers'.
.Oh the irony that lays behind that group name and the person who set it up..
We occasionally publish information on the locomotives, and rollingstock, from railways in Australia and the Philippines.

Subscribe - To Save Time!

One of the major complaints about blog site from people is that you often waste time checking back just to find there has been no updates.
To combat this I am trialling a new subscription idea, the link to which can be found on the top of the right column.
It uses Yahoogroups as a basis, but only allows for notifications of updates to the 'Semi-Retired Foamer" blog site.
There is no option to reply to anyone except for me, so your inbox will not be full of the rantings of other people, while the subscriber list is not available to members.

So to save time between updates give the 'FREE' subscription service a go!

Oh right! So, you've just now gotten around to posting 1987 photos of your 'recent' tram trip tramp to Melb.? After all, What's 20 years to a flatulent fat foamer other than 40 extra pounds? Lightening speed, mate; you're just trying to make me look lazy, eh? Here I am, having 'just returned' from my Ozzie olidai 7 years ago in 2001, with thousands of unpublished pics, on expensive nearly antiquated discs, of exotic trams and trains in Adelaide and Alice, photos of trackside roos taken from the Ghan, Blue Mountian adventures (oh right, you took me there), steamer day trips into the bush hinterlands, and a 12 hour cab ride on the XPT from Syd to Melb (greuling mate, grueling!), and other stuff (as opposed to stuffed up) that this Yank thought was cool; all piled up in the corner 'waiting' for me to get round to putting it all on line as I lay about on me fat arse. Just wait, soon the proper publishing mood will strike me, in a decade or so. No worries, a winery is holding a keg for me, and when It's properly aged, I'll get right on the job.

Your faithfully farting Yank mate,

Can't believe it has been seven years.
I am certain you are overdue for a return to Sydney to devour a good ol Aussie pie or ten?
