One of those rare times when you turn up just in time to grab the shot.
For once luck was on our side as got up on bridge, pulled out cameras and the Indian Pacific rolls on by.

4461 4701 4458 power up for the final stretch to Sandgate as they pass an up Newcastle service.
The 44s are now both in storage at Goulburn and believed to be for sale.

Once a big part of the suburban Newcastle seen, the spuddy sets have now gone.
This particular set has been preserved.

RANDOM SPARKS

Because some people find them interesting.

  Yes, yes, yes, I know I am not noted for my endless dreary catalogue of horizontal elevators, but sometimes boredom takes over while awaiting the real stuff and one wishes to just test ones camera.
  However, time does change things and upon revisiting these shots you find tingles in areas just number by the sight of a passenger carrying toasted.

Unanderra with a U Boat. At the time it was probably one of the most vile sights you could hope to find.
But now, well nowdays,  with the U Boats gone, the view before you seems a tad less repugnant.

~~ FOAMING TRAMS ~~

"Oh Good God" I hear you saying. Don't tell me he has photographed trams as well.
Well, yes indeed, when not out foaming trains on all their glory, one past significant amounts of time in search of their much smaller, street bound, cousins.
 Don't laugh!!! There was actually quite a lot of interest in these things until, well, until the dreaded' modernity' word reared its ugly head and lead to the horrid excuses for trams that we endure today.
  Back in the late 80s and early 90s one was a regular visitor to Melbourne and occasionally Adelaide where ones filthy lens was pointed at for more than ALCos and those lesser manufactured EMDs.
I hereby bring forth a small selection of tram piccies from these journeys.
If you are good and don't embarrass yourself immensely, I will bring forth some more in the short term.
Now, enjoy. Or don't enjoy. It's really up to you.

~~ PROSPECT QUARRY LINE ~~

A lunch with friends yesterday lead to my partaking in a long desired plan to check out the long removed Toongabbie to Prospect Reservoir quarry railway.
Due to time constraints only the first section was followed, with a quick look around Toongabbie Road where all trace seems to have been removed.
This initial section now forms a path, with a shallow cutting being the most obvious sign of its former usage.
  Just beyond the former steel siding the formation seems to do a slight S bend before disappearing into factories.
It is planned to go back for a better look in the near future.

Recently I again had the pleasure of locating a collection of grubby old Instamatic shots while packing for a move of residency.
Despite all my reservations, I have scanned a few for sharing with the wider community. I trust you will find the quality and/or content worthy enough of your hatred and disdain.
After, as a railfan, it is your duty to hate them all.
