CLOSED SOUTH-WEST LINES TOUR - 21 02 2015

Back in the days before select individuals ruined the S*M*U*T group, and the hobby as a whole for myself, we would run the occasional bus tours around Sydney, checking out former rail locations.

This was our second tour, this one covering the former lines of the south-west, along with visits to the 'Campbelltown Steam and Machinery Museum' and the model railway club at Menangle.

2716 visiting a very wet Warwick Farm Racecourse platform.
Opened: 1889 - Closed: 1990
Since this visit, most of the platform has been removed for some sort of redevelopment.

Former Holsworthy branch line from Liverpool.
The wet road makes the former trackage obvious. The track in front of me is the main track to Holsworthy (ahead), and Liverpool (behind).
In the distance, the line curves right under Newbridge Road, while a former siding branched off to the left of the shot.
