Well knowing that you didn't seem to travel out to the west very often ... and seeing those tankers weren't often seen that close to any loco out where the 49s did operate for many years ... I'd have to say that this photo was taken at somewhere around Botany :)
Stuart, Spot on mate, its actually coming up the AMPOL branch at East Botany. Not much of this line left short of the rails in the Ocean and Baker street crossings. Rest has been built over or landscaped, while the entrance to the terminal seems to mostly be used to store trucks.
